The BOB Medal

The Gold Ranger-Class Elites (or BOBs, as they’re known to friends) appear as Easter Eggs whom Bungie has laid throughout the campaign. You can easily find entire Internet guides on tracking them down if you’re planning a BOB Hunt — and which earn you the Bungie.net exclusive Seek And Destroy medal — but we really only need one to pocket this Challenge, so we’ll leave the rest for you to BOBhunt at leisure.

Hi. My name is BOB. I'll be your roadkill for today.

Head into Winter Contingency (mission start), since as the campaign’s opening level it’s also by design the easiest, and play through till you hit the turretless Warthogs. The BOB will spawn in one of three places:

  1. At the first structure you drive past, where Jun says they’ve detected heat signatures;
  2. on the bridge down the hill to the left just past that; or
  3. on the road up the hill if you skip the bridge.

Just paint your Warthog grill with them once they’re spotted; they splatter real nice like. Can’t find ’em? Don’t worry. Here’s a handy YouTube guide for a complete, ah, rundown.

    Rally Point Alpha is a much better choice than mission start – it literally starts you metres away from the jeeps!

    Great site!
    I’m looking at it from my iPad, I can’t view your videos for some reason… Can you add links in the future?

  3. J says:

    Figured it out, nice button at the bottom turned it from mobile to desktop version.. Desktop version worked fine. The mobile version is pretty cool though, so links would be awesome sauce… Keep up the good work!

      Heya J! There’s some special format for the iPad that I can set up through WordPress — a number of folks have asked about it already — but since I lack both an iPad and average human intelligence I haven’t quite figured it out yet. Soon, I promise!!
