Glass-shattering Screenshot Of The Day today courtesy of RoyalBoss ross, who’ll deal you death from the darkness — and from behind, no less. Thanks, ross! Everyone, click to enlarge!

Meanwhile, if you haven’t done it already, yo: Send your screenshots to haloreachdaily@live.com, or just make a file recommendation to us on XBox (Gamertag: Ender Xer0, with a zero), and we’ll take care of the rest. Remember: we’re not looking for plain Forge art or random pix from the Internet; it should be a screenshot of YOU!

DAILY CHALLENGES

Summary

TYPES: Completion, Kills, Special Enemy, Special Weapon
SETTINGS: Firefight, Multiplayer
AVERAGE DIFFICULTY: Easy / Grind
TOTAL TIME: 65-90 minutes
OVERALL VALUE: ★★★★☆
TOTAL CREDITS: 5000

FIRE WHEN READY

Multiplayer

Kills

Type: Kills
Setting: Multiplayer
Difficulty: Easy
Time: 10-15 minutes
Value: ★★★★★
Reward: 1100

Kill 30 enemies in Multiplayer Matchmaking.

Grifball…

BELIEVE!

J.H. DEATH MACHINE

Firefight

Special Weapon

Kills

Type: Kills / Special Weapon
Setting: Firefight
Difficulty: Grind
Time: 25-30 minutes
Value: ★★★☆
Reward: 1250

Kill 70 enemies in Firefight Matchmaking with the Grenade Launcher.

You’ve got both a solo and co-op option here: By yourself, Score Attack in a standard Firefight with the Spectre loadout (Camo plus Grenade Launcher) will require you to linger near an ammo case for reloads, but you won’t have any competition for your kills. With teammates, Nadefight in Firefight Arcade gifts you with unlimited ammo, but you’ll have to share-and-share-alike.

Remember also, the Grenade Launcher allows you to delay detonation by holding the trigger, so you can set a landmine trap, especially if you’re skilled enough to drop a ‘nade at their spawn right before the announcer calls for Reinforcements; the Covies’ll never know what hit ’em.

CREDITS FOR COMPLETION

Multiplayer

Type: Completion
Setting: Multiplayer
Difficulty: Retarded
Time: 30-45 minutes (Concurrent with other Challenges)
Value: ★★★★★
Reward: 1250

Complete 5 games in Multiplayer Matchmaking.

Yes, you really can earn this by doing absolutely nothing for five games; it’s hard to call it a “Challenge” when the only requirement is that your controller doesn’t turn off. (And even then.) But, hey, it’s 1250 free cRedits, and you’ll probably pocket all the games simply by handling the other Dailies and Weekly Challenge. So don’t complain, eh?

DEMON

Firefight

Special Enemy

Kills

Type: Kills / Special Enemy
Setting: Firefight
Difficulty: Grind
Time: 20-30 minutes
Value: ★★★★
Reward: 1400

Kill 40 Elites in Firefight Matchmaking on Heroic or harder.

Firefight Arcade has rendered the Demon Challenges vastly easier, since games now feature entire Waves of Elites and three Rounds worth of them as well. Still, it won’t be that easy to string up 40 mandibles in a single match — particularly with other players hunting for Dino meat as well — so be prepared for their arrival.

The Heretics actually present more of a threat than the Boss-Wave Elites, since they’re way more in number and rock instant-kill weapons like aimbot-controlled Sniper Rifles; a helluva lot more dangerous than some solo Gold Elite with a melee weapon.

Look for Arcade playlists with concussive weapons — Grenade Launchers, FRGs, and of course Concussion Rifles — to bounce Elites around the map, since that’ll actually throw off their aim and extend your lifespan amid the headshot crossfire. It’s convenient that the J.H. Death Machine Challenge requires ‘nade launcher kills, but we’re not sure how much success you’ll have attempting to combine Challenges; the launcher works great against packs of weaker opponents, but against Elites the EMP burst simply strips their shields, requiring a clumsy reload while they take potshots at you.

Drop Shield will buy you some extra time — but make sure to use it where you’ve got other cover as well, since it won’t last long under sustained unlimited Sniper and Rocket fire.

WEEKLY CHALLENGE

BEST SERVED COLD

Multiplayer

Revenge

Kill

Type: Kill / Special Enemy
Setting: Multiplayer
Difficulty: Grind
Time: 11 per Day
Value: ★★★★★
Reward: 7777

Take your Revenge on 77 enemies in Multiplayer Matchmaking.

NEW WEEKLY CHALLENGE!

Yep, it really is as simple as it sounds. You’ll need to score an average of 11 per day, though you can probably power your way through the entire Klingon proverb in a single afternoon if you spend it playing Grifball.

Not a fan of the orange dude with the bomb? Well, OK, you’re adopted, but whatever. Head into small-squad Slayer matches — Team, SWAT, Snipers, and especially Double Team — since fewer enemies means it’s more likely you’ll hunt down your killer. (In fact, with Double Team, it’s a 50-50 prospect, so you’ll register multiple medals every game.) And don’t forget a stylish teabag: It is Revenge, eh?
